Maria Roy

Maria Roy Deulofeu is a Catalan artist and ceramicist whose research-driven practice explores the stories held within the soil. Working between ceramics, material research, and sculpture, she combines traditional and experimental craft techniques to investigate the political, ecological, and historical narratives embedded in the land.

Through sculpture, installation, and material investigation, her practice makes tangible the specific histories and rhythms embedded in place. Approaching ceramics as an archaeological medium, she uses clay and soil to translate land into form, reclaiming connections between people, materials, and territory.

Alongside her artistic practice, Maria regularly teaches workshops and courses focused on wild clay foraging, material research, ecology, and contemporary ceramic practices. She has over 10 years of experience as a ceramicist and has taught at universities, art institutions, and independent educational platforms internationally.
