Esther Palmer
London ceramicist and RCA graduate making wheel-thrown functional pottery and sculptural work exploring ritual and landscape.
Instagram →Esther Palmer is a London-based ceramicist specialising in wheel-thrown forms, with a focus on both functional pottery and sculptural ceramics. Her deep passion for clay is enriched by a diverse range of global experiences, including artist residencies in Copenhagen, Latvia, and Mexico. Her sculptural work weaves together the narratives of landscape, deep time, and the interwoven histories and mythologies of both human and more-than-human worlds. Through her practice, Esther seeks to honor the natural rhythms of the body, the seasons, and the earth, creating ceremonial landmarks that explore the intersections of ritual, memory, and the sacred. These themes also influence her functional wares, where ceremony and connection are integral to her designs. A graduate of the Royal College of Art in 2024, Esther is now focused on developing new work for galleries in London. Alongside this, she is passionate about sharing her love for clay through teaching intermediate throwing courses and cultivating a vibrant ceramics community at Culford Studios.
