Enrico Xue

Xue Jianchao (Enrico) was born in Yixing, China, a city famous for its ceramic heritage. He studied sculpture at the Academy of Arts and Design, Fuzhou University, from 2007 to 2011, and in 2012 moved to Italy to pursue further studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. During his years in Rome, he broadened his artistic vision by experimenting with new materials.

In early 2023 he rediscovered ceramics and recognised its deep connection to sculpture. This rediscovery led him to fully dedicate himself to ceramic art and refine his craft, and his recent research focuses on exploring different forms and structures integrated with ceramics.

He currently runs an independent art studio in Milan. His practice connects his Eastern cultural roots with Western artistic influences, and his work reflects an evolving artistic journey that balances innovation with heritage.
